Alliant takes Gregory from Willis to lead public entity, infrastructure practice

Alliant has tapped Willis Towers Watson’s Lauren Gregory to lead a public entity and infrastructure team in its New York office.

Gregory will focus on serving Alliant’s existing east coast client base, as well as developing new public entity and construction clients.

The executive had been with Willis since 2012, most recently serving as EVP and construction team leader for the broker’s New York construction practice. Previously, she was president at Allied Risk Solutions, which she joined in 1995.

Before that, Gregory served as director for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s risk and insurance management division. During her career, she has specialized in the formation of captives, and according to a statement released by Alliant, formed the first captive insurance company in the state of New York.

“Lauren’s extensive risk management experience, legal background, and underwriting knowledge adds significant fire power to our team in New York,” said Michael Cusack, co-COO of Alliant Specialty.

“We are strong drivers in the west coast public entity market, and with Lauren at Alliant, we have immediately advanced our public entity infrastructure capabilities in the east.”

Gregory will be based in New York.

Her hire continues an active period for Alliant, which recently recruited a 15-strong transportation and logistics team from Willis to launch an office in Knoxville, Tennessee, and last week acquired the trade credit and political risk broker One Source.
