Aon has hired former Allied World Assurance executive John McElroy as its head of casualty for its reinsurance operations in Bermuda.

He will report to Bermuda reinsurance solutions chairman and CEO Tony Fox.

At Allied World Assurance, McElroy was initially president of professional lines for four years, before becoming COO in 2012.
