New York DFS issues alert over Microsoft Exchange hack

The New York Department of Financial Services (DFS) has issued a warning over the recent Microsoft Exchange hack, which is understood to have compromised the systems of as many as 60,000 businesses.

In a letter sent to all regulated financial entities in the state on Tuesday, the DFS said companies should immediately follow guidance from Microsoft either to immediately patch or disconnect vulnerable servers.
