APCIA sues to halt ban on credit-based insurance scores in Washington State

The American Property and Casualty Insurance Association has filed a lawsuit to overturn a recent emergency order by the Washington State insurance commissioner that bans the use of credit-based insurance scores.

In a statement on Tuesday, the trade body said its members “strongly oppose” the action being taken by the regulator, and that it believes the measure could make the private market less competitive.
