State Auto hit with $66mn in winter storm losses

Ohio-based carrier State Auto has said it expects to report between $80mn and $82mn in catastrophe losses in its first-quarter results, including $66mn from winter storms Uri and Viola.

Most of the winter-storm claims come from Texas, which continues to grapple with what is expected to be among the largest insured losses in state history.
