Greenlight Re invests in amateur sports insurance MGU Player’s Health

Greenlight Re on Wednesday announced that it has invested in Minneapolis-headquartered managing general underwriter Player’s Health, which provides insurance and risk management services to amateur sports organizations.

The Cayman Islands-headquartered carrier has invested an undisclosed sum in Player’s Delaware-based holding company, Ao1 Holdings.

Sports liability losses have risen in severity in recent years, as social inflation pushes up the cost of jury awards granted to injured players.
