RenRe drops to $36mn underwriting loss on $180mn in Uri claims

RenRe grew its property business by 33% and by 29% in its casualty and specialty division in the first quarter, but fell to a $36mn underwriting loss after the reinsurer was hit with $180mn in claims from winter storm Uri.
