Aon lawyers push back on DoJ delay in antitrust trial

The opening skirmishes of the blockbuster antitrust trial that pits the US Department of Justice (DoJ) against Aon and Willis Towers Watson have begun, amid allegations that the government is seeking to put “artificial impediments” in the way of a speedy trial.

In a testy correspondence, Aon counsel Daniel Wall called the DoJ antitrust prosecutors’ proposal for a February 28, 2022 trial start date a “nonstarter”.
