Tropical storm Elsa made landfall in Taylor County along the North Florida Gulf Coast, according to a public advisory issued by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) at 11am EDT.

Reports said it brought heavy rain and strong gusts to the area as it hit the Big Bend region north of Tampa, while the NHC has discontinued its storm surge watch for the Florida Gulf Coast.
