WSIA reports 21.9% jump in H1 surplus lines premiums

Premiums continued to pour into the surplus lines market during H1 2021, with premiums jumping 21.9% across 15 major states compared with the same period in 2020, according to data from the Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association (WSIA).

The report suggests that growth continues despite the challenges of the pandemic, as surplus lines premiums exceeded $24bn throughout the first half of the year.
