Willis pulls post-merger retention bonuses while Aon pays out

Willis Towers Watson will not pay out retention awards that were due to staff on the completion of the now-failed Aon deal in contrast to the senior merger partner, this publication can reveal.

The broker, whose $30bn combination with Aon collapsed earlier this week, had set out retention bonuses for select senior staff in a bid to prevent talent flight before the deal closed.
