AIG's GI combined ratio hits 92.5%, lowest since 2007, as NPW surge by 24%

Underwriting profits in AIG’s general insurance (GI) unit soared to $463mn and the segment lowered its combined ratio to 92.5%, marking the property-casualty division’s best underwriting result since before the global financial crisis in 2008.

AIG said it earned $1.52 per share in adjusted income in the watershed quarter, well ahead of the $0.64
