SEC backs Nasdaq’s ESG regulation proposals

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved two diversity plans filed by Nasdaq, the Board Diversity Proposal and Board Recruiting Service Proposal, as originally filed in December and amended in February.

The rules were initially proposed to promote gender, racial and LGBTQ+ diversity within the boards of directors of Nasdaq-listed companies.
