MGA operator The McGowan Companies has acquired the assets of rival professional liability specialists Arbanas & Associates.

Terms of the deal, which was effective August 1, were not disclosed.

Susan Arbanas, president of the eponymous firm, and principal Kenneth Peterson are retiring and their Gross Point Farms, Michigan, office will close.
