Excess casualty market stabilizes as upward property pressure eases: Amwins

The excess casualty marketplace has stabilized after a year of dislocation, while excess and surplus (E&S) property rates on more attractive business have slowed to be flat to +10%, according to a closely watched market report from wholesale firm Amwins.

In the Q2/Q3 update, Amwins said of the casualty market: “The theme in 2021 shows the market has stabilized thanks to abrupt adjustments made by carriers last year and new capacity entrants.”
