Ransomware attack now costs $10.1mn on average, study shows

The average cost of a ransomware incident at a large company over the past five years was $10.1mn, while for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the average was $267,000, according to the 11th annual Cyber Claims Study by NetDiligence, a cyber risk response service.

The study looks at actual losses for data breaches and other cyber-related events covered by leading cyber insurance carriers.
