Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has appointed David Slevin from Chubb to work as its departmental head of aviation as it looks to expand its presence across the sector.

Slevin joins the business from Chubb, where he has worked since 2019 as aviation product head, having previously worked at Hiscox and Faraday. He has more than 36 years’ experience in the aviation market.

His position at TMK is a newly created job with a remit of driving profitable growth in the aviation book, which was established in 1976.

Slevin is expected to take up the role in the spring of 2022.

According to the latest Plane Talking report from Gallagher, rates in the airlines sector are beginning to moderate following three years of upwards pressure.

Capacity is returning to the sector from existing and new markets, with The Hartford and Inigo finalising their preparations to enter the aviation market.

TMK CUO Matthew Shaw said: “TMK has earned its reputation for innovation and excellence in this important sector, and our ambitions are to take this further under David’s leadership.

“David will benefit from the expertise of our strong and experienced team, and we are excited for his arrival next year.”
