Hurricane Ida and other severe weather and inflationary pressures pushed The Hanover Group to an underwriting loss for the third quarter.

The Massachusetts-based firm posted an underwriting loss of $30.9mn, reversing a year-ago profit of $61.4mn, for the three months ended September 30.
