MS Amlin Underwriting names RSG’s McKenna as president of US entity
MS Amlin Underwriting Limited has appointed Peter McKenna as president of its newly formed US sister company MS Amlin Distribution Holdings (MS ADH).
In his new role, McKenna will report into Johan Slabbert CEO of MS ADH, and will take up the position with immediate effect.
McKenna joins MS ADH from RSG Europe, where he most recently served as CEO for seven years.
Prior to RSG, McKenna worked at AIG for 23 years in a number of roles, including CEO, financial lines EMEA, and COO, financial lines US & Canada.
The launch of MS ADH will support MS Amlin’s plans to expand its US presence. The company recently struck a deal to buy US MGA International Transportation and Marine Office (ITMO) as part of the strategy to provide access to US MGAs.
MS Amlin’s plans to tap the US specialty MGA market aim to help to balance out its catastrophe exposure and allow it to build on its core portfolio.
The appointment of McKenna follows the recent appointment of David Mocklow as CFO and chief claims officer, as the new company looks to build out its team.
Mocklow brings more than 25 years' experience in reinsurance and capital markets to his role. He joined from specialty carrier Gramercy Risk Management where, as a founding member of the team, he served as head of strategy and corporate development.
Slabbert said: “I am delighted that Peter will be joining the business, furthering our commitment and momentum to strategic growth in the US market.
“Peter is deeply experienced in building new businesses and driving growth, and has a proven track record in insurance markets across multiple geographies, including the US, Europe and the Middle East.”
