AmRisc promotes Nickoles to Waypoint Wholesale CEO
Truist-owned AmRisc has promoted Molly Nickoles to lead its wholesale division, Waypoint Wholesale, the company announced Tuesday.
She most recently served as CUO for AmRisc’s Builder Risk product.
Following the move, Billy Hammond will take over for Nickoles as Builders Risk CUO, and Marcus Kelley will lead as division president of the now-combined Waypoint Technical Risks and National Specialty.
Finally, Thomas Bonnarigo will step into the role of AmRisc CUO of National Accounts in 2022, ahead of current CUO Scott Hornsby’s retirement.
Nickoles joined AmRisc in 2003 as a senior underwriter based in Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to that, she worked as an actuarial analyst at Vesta Insurance.
Laura Beckmann, president and chief operating officer of AmRisc Group, said: “Molly has been with AmRisc for 18 years and is already an incredible asset to our company. She has been instrumental in growing our Builders Risk product, and I have no doubt she will add a tremendous amount of value in her new role as Waypoint CEO.
Nickoles said: “A key factor in our success is our partnerships. As the CEO of Waypoint, I want to continue to build the trust our wholesale partners have in our people, our products, and our services.”
In September 2020, the specialty broking arm of AmRisc Group announced it was rebranding its AmRisc Wholesale division to Waypoint Wholesale, in a bid to “eliminate confusion” between its underwriting and distribution businesses.
AmRisc is best known as a managing general agency. The business is part of Truist Insurance Holdings, which also recently rebranded itself to recognize the BB&T and SunTrust merger, which closed in December 2019.
Waypoint Wholesale sits alongside Chronos Retail, AmRisc Online and Insurisk, as sub-brands of the AmRisc Group.
