Root’s Alex Timm: Incumbent technology infrastructure is ‘crumbling’

The CEO of auto InsurTech Root said that while major incumbent carriers might have initially had a natural advantage in the volume of data at their disposal, they are now being held back by a technology infrastructure that is “crumbling”.

Alex Timm, who also co-founded Root six years ago, was speaking on a panel at investment bank KBW’s Innovation in Finance Conference, in a discussion entitled “InsurTech – The Driver is Named Data”.
