Mapfre to make $984mn payment over Ituango Dam

Spanish insurer Mapfre has signed a contract to make a $984mn contingency payout to Colombia’s Empresas Publicas de Medellin (EPM) over issues concerning the construction of the Ituango Dam, according to Reuters.

Under the deal, EPM will receive a $633mn payment in January 2022, in addition to a previously made $350mn payment.
