Louisiana-licensed SafePoint Insurance received approval from the 19th Judicial District Court in Baton Rouge to take over approximately 30,000 homeowners policies from two insolvent insurers that were put into receivership after Hurricane Ida devastated the state.

The assumption of the policies, which Florida-based SafePoint acquired for the price of the unearned premium, is retroactive to December 1.
