Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon has put distressed homeowners' carrier Americas Insurance Company into receivership following the heavy burden of Hurricane Ida losses incurred last year. 

Louisiana’s Department of Insurance (DOI) said the insurer was placed into receivership last week in the 19th Judicial District Court.
