The Hartford has exhausted the $300mn limit on the adverse development cover (ADC) it bought from National Indemnity prior to closing its acquisition of Navigators in 2019.

The Hartford’s management team on Friday called the move to buy the ADC “the right decision” and said it knew Navigators had “some issues” with its balance sheet at the time of the purchase.
