AIG has pledged to make its underwriting and investment portfolios net zero on greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, as it issued a raft of new ESG goals.

The global insurer’s new measures included an immediate halt to investing and providing insurance for the construction of new coal-fired power plants, thermal coal mines or oil sands projects.
