Marine cargo underwriters are braced for losses of at least $140mn from a fire that ripped through a Walmart warehouse in Indiana last week, this publication can reveal.

It is not clear at this stage the precise value of the stock damaged at the warehouse between Avon and Indianapolis International Airport, but sources with knowledge of the claim estimated a loss figure of between $140mn and $190mn.
