Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he wants to look at what can be done to stabilize (re)insurance rates in the short term, as he spoke in favor of holding a special session on property insurance in the coming weeks.

His comments followed Senator Jeff Brandes’ efforts to bring about change in the market by forcing a special session under section 11.011.
