Insured losses hit $14bn in Q1, making it the sixth Q1 in a row when insured losses have topped $10bn, Aon’s Global Catastrophe Recap said.

The three months were “highly active in many territories”, with windstorms in Western and Central Europe, flooding in Australia, an earthquake in Japan and severe convective storms in the US.
