S&P Global Ratings has upgraded the financial strength rating (FSR) of Fairfax’s core (re)insurance subsidiaries to A from A-, citing diversified underwriting operations.

In a statement, S&P noted that Fairfax's credit profile benefits from favorable reinsurance pricing.

In Q1 2022, Fairfax’s gross written premium rose 21.9%
