Inflation, supply chain and cat risks top list of factors hitting property market: USI

Elevated catastrophe events, rising material costs stemming from ongoing supply chain issues and the overall impact of inflation, particularly “the skyrocketing cost of repairs”, are the key factors impacting the property market at mid-year, according to USI.

“Despite these challenges, the rate and deductible environment established in 2019-2021 has resulted in a stabilization of the property market,” USI said in its mid-year update on the commercial P&C market.
