FCA fines JLT Specialty £7.8mn for financial crime control failings

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has fined JLT Specialty £7.8mn ($9.5mn) for financial crime control failings, which in one circumstance allowed a bribe of more than $3mn to take place.

The business, which is now part of Marsh McLennan, placed business in the London reinsurance market for JLT Re Colombia, which had been introduced by a Panamanian third party.
