Munich Re pegs H1 nat-cat insured losses at $34bn

Insured natural disaster losses during the first six months of the year totalled $34bn, out of economic losses of $65bn, according to Munich Re.

This compares with economic losses of $105bn in the first half of 2021. Of the $34bn insured nat-cat losses, $19bn derived from the US.
