WR Berkley’s (WRB) combined ratio increased 1.7 points to 92.1% in the third quarter, while gross premiums grew 10.5% to top $3bn again.

The weakened combined ratio was driven by an increase in the company's loss ratio.

Catastrophe losses added 3.9 points to the combined ratio, as the carrier’s Q3 underlying loss ratio declined 0.3
