ProAssurance’s healthcare liability segment still hit by Covid court backlog: CEO Rand

ProAssurance CEO Ned Rand said that his company is still seeing an impact from Covid, particularly in its healthcare liability segment, as claims resolution continues to take longer than historical norms amid a significant backlog in court systems.

Rand said that prior to Covid, within the timeframe of three to four years, ProAssurance felt it had “pretty good clarity on where a current accident year was headed, [but] that time frame is extended.”
