October’s Texas surplus lines premiums rise 17.9% to $827mn

Premiums written by surplus lines insurers in the state rose 17.9% to $827mn in October, according to the Surplus Lines Stamping Office of Texas (SLTX).

In the first ten months of the year, surplus lines pricing increased 26% to $9.56bn, STLX reported.

Commercial fire/allied lines saw the largest increase at 27.2%,
