Florida insurance reform bills propose $1bn reinsurance fund; stamp out AOB, one-way fees

Florida’s state legislature has set out its aims for this week’s special session with a bill addressing key concerns including eliminating one-way attorney fees and getting rid of the state’s controversial assignment of benefits (AOB) right.

Mirroring bills are going through the Senate (Senate Bill 2A) and House (HB 1A), which would also fund an extension of state reinsurance support with $1bn for 2023.
