Economic losses from Winter Storm Elliott are likely to be in the low single-digit billions, according to a Guy Carpenter note that echoes modelers’ views on insured losses coming in lower than from Storm Uri last year.

While Guy Carpenter’s note did not specify an insured loss estimate, it provided details on prior US winter storms that Elliott is comparable to, as well as characteristics of the event that contrast significantly with Uri last year.
