US cat treaty renewals: Gruelling, but nearing the finish line

Fears of a chaotic and much-delayed 1 January renewal did not manifest perhaps quite as strongly as expected before the holidays, but nevertheless US cedants have emerged from negotiations paying significantly more, for less coverage.

As we reported over the festive break, the majority of gaps for US cat treaty placements were filled, but some are expected to remain into January - these are predominantly on larger programmes and more poorly performing regional treaties.
