Dream of Californication: The FTC wants to ban non-competes

If the broking industry needed any reminder that it is operating in a tighter anti-trust environment than in the previous decade following the torpedoing of Aon’s takeover of Willis, it came earlier this month via the Federal Trade Commission’s declaration that it intended to ban non-competes.

The FTC said that non-competes represent an unfair method of competition, and opened a 60-day consultation on proposals to end their widespread use.
