RenaissanceRe has raised $1.4bn in third-party capital in 2022 through DaVinci ($462.7mn), Medici ($350.1mn), Fontana ($273.7mn), Vermeer ($250mn) and Upsilon ($79mn).

For comparison, in 2021, the company raised $1.1bn.

The expansion follows third-party providers cutting back on capacity late last year, especially on cat risk, as reported by this publication.
