Early signs emerging from the Florida market have more insurance market participants hopeful that Hurricane Ian claims can avoid the excessive loss deterioration and high claims litigation that followed 2017’s Hurricane Irma.

Showing that Ian loss estimates can be more contained and robust will be critical for local insurers in their reinsurance relationships, ahead of what will be another hugely challenging year for June renewals.
