Sompo International has hired Nicolas Burnet as its new chief financial officer, following the resignation of Michael McGuire, who is stepping down after 20 years at the firm.

Based in Boston, the executive will report to Sompo International CEO James Shea.

Burnet joins Sompo after over two years at PartnerRe, where he was CFO and served as a member of the reinsurer’s executive team.
