Aon pegs Q1 global cat losses at $15bn and warns of further loss development

Global losses to private and public insurance entities from natural disasters in Q1 2023 stand at $15bn and have the potential to develop further, according to Aon.

The broker said in a report that “robust” loss development was expected to continue throughout the year, with the Turkey earthquake, severe convective storms in the US and flooding in New Zealand all adding to the claims toll.
