NFP launches complex risk unit in Canada with Seeger and Garner appointments
NFP has hired Joe Seeger and Evan Garner from Willis Towers Watson to lead the build-out of a new business division in Canada, Inside P&C can reveal.
The duo will lead a new complex risk solutions group, which specializes in placing cover for companies in the forestry, mining, oil and gas, and power and utilities industries, as well as renewable energy and transportation firms.
Seeger has more than 25 years of experience working in risk management and as an insurance broker for natural resources firms, including in claims management and captive implementation roles.
Garner has over 15 years’ experience in the market, across industries including rail, heavy manufacturing, retail and real estate.
Both broking executives are tasked with establishing a market-leading complex risk business unit in Canada for NFP.
Commenting on the appointments, NFP executive vice president and head of the broker’s P&C division Henry Lombardi said: “Our focus remains on growing our specialty business and providing the specialized insight and market access clients need.”
“Welcoming Evan and Joe is an exciting way to start the year and we look forward to their contributions to the development of our specialty business,” he added.
The expansive broker is extending its reach into the Canadian market through M&A and organic growth.
In December, it announced the acquisition of insurance broking and program underwriting firm Ogilvy Insurance, which has operations in Toronto and Oakville, Ontario.
