State insurance regulators in the US are becoming more comfortable with private equity-backed insurance M&A transactions, according to the chair of Debevoise & Plimpton’s insurance regulatory practice, Eric Dinallo.

Speaking on a webinar hosted by the law firm, the partner said there were areas such as the management of legacy business and asset portfolios, where regulators increasingly appreciate the expertise PE firms can bring to bear.
