Insurers increase loss estimate for Louisiana hurricanes by 25%

Insurers have increased cost estimates for the three hurricanes that struck Louisiana by 25% since the end of last year, according to Jim Donelon, commissioner for the Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI).

Policyholders have now filed 311,266 claims for damages caused by a trio of major storms that hit the state between August and October last year.
