WR Berkley has hired Michelle Middleton from Chubb as president of Berkley Mid-Atlantic Group (BMAG), taking over from John Kearns, who becomes chairman of the operating unit and steps into a more advisory role.

Middleton has had a 30-year career in commercial lines, most recently as executive vice president and head of industry practices at Chubb.
