Kinsale says rate increases have ‘not started to ebb’

Kinsale COO Brian Haney said on Friday that despite recent industry data showing a slowdown in the pace of rate increases, pricing for the company continues to move higher, while also expressing the view that higher economic inflation would “prolong the hard market” as rising costs eat into carrier margins.

The executive was speaking to analysts on Friday, a day after his company reported that gross written premiums grew by 45% in the quarter and that it had benefitted from “low double-digit” rate increases.
