Carriers’ shares dip after Ida pummels Louisiana

Insurance stocks fell slightly on Monday after Hurricane Ida slammed into Louisiana, causing widespread damage to homes and commercial buildings and dealing a devastating blow to the region’s power grid.

While the market was in the green, with major indexes holding near-record highs reached last week, commercial insurers declined in Monday trading as damage assessments started to come in.
